Along the trekking routes of the Italian Alpine Club, in the heart of Apuan Alps, long and short-distance footpaths to walk even with children carrying their rucksacks or on foot. Some can be reached by car in about 20 minutes starting from Passo del Lucese, others in 50 minutes by car departing from the refuge-restaurant and farm of the upper Matanna, where you can enjoy low, medium and difficult level panoramic itineraries together with wild animals.<\/p>\n
Sea and beyond<\/h3>\n
The coast of Versilia and Marina di Vecchiano offers sea and wide sandy beaches with free entry or with equipped bathrooms. To cool off in summer and take a few dives away from the crowds, we recommend the natural pools of the Candalla stream or the shores of the Lima stream in Garfagnana.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
<\/div><\/div>Natural and thematic parks<\/h3>\n
The parks of San Rossore and Massaciuccoli offer guided tours for families to discover the flora and fauna that characterize the area. For the little ones, you can easily reach the Pinocchio Park near Collodi, where children can relive the adventures of the famous puppet in the company of the characters from the book. Noteworthy is the beautiful park of Villa Garzoni, recently restored and open to the public, which houses the suggestive butterfly house.<\/p>\n
Botanical garden<\/h3>\n
The Botanical Garden in the center of the walls of Lucca and the Botanical Garden of Abetone enhance the treasures of the local flora, biodiversity and forest aspects.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Lucca, a few kilometers away, is the closest city of art, famous for its ancient medieval walls.
